After a horrendous experience with another mechanic who misdiagnosed my car and did a terrible job, I brought it to CATS in frustration for a second opinion. My mechanic suggested I take my Pajero to a specialist transmission workshop to check out a vibration that may have been coming from the torque converter. Serge took it for a test drive and ruled that out after thorough testing. They don’t guess! They are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Definitely deserve a genuine 5 star rating.

Gian was recommended by a trusted friend and he was not wrong ..they fitted me in to see the fault code on my Ford Endura..AWD FUALT CODE was infact a steering angle sensor .phew..James had me in and out in less than ten minutes with instructions to see a auto electrician..great to see honest and efficient mechanics still exist

Amazing.Bought an older Tiguan that developed issues. Turned out it was a REALLY expensive fix for the boys. They let me source a transmission and installed it.CATS are cheap at twice the price.Phenomenal service and extremely honest.

Hello,I brought my car to your shop for transmission repair on May 23, 2024. The license plate number is S314W. I have been experiencing abnormal noises from the transmission when the engine is running below 1000rpm during startup. Additionally, there are noises when shifting from neutral to drive, which disappear once the engine exceeds 1000rpm. I am concerned about potential issues with the transmission resurfacing.As my car is still within the warranty period, could you please check the transmission for me this Monday? Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Had a sudden clutch breakdown on my 2014 Hyundai i30, and required emergency repairs. The boys at CATS were fantastic, and had the job done next day. Gearbox is now smooth as silk. Highly recomended.

I first brought my van to this shop a year ago, and the work performed was outstanding. Gian and his team took the time to discuss the issues in detail, explaining everything clearly and ensuring I understood the necessary repairs. Can’t recommend these guys enough. They fixed my transmission at a fraction of the price quoted at similar shops in the area. They’re honest, telling me it was merely a cheap part - a solenoid that needed replacing. They also had absolutely no problem replacing a seal under warranty that began leaking after they replaced it earlier this year.- clean workshop- honest, won’t rip you off- very fast turn around!!10/10, will be back if I ever need to.

I recently took my car to Central Automatics after a major service elsewhere missed a few key issues, including a serious problem with the transmission. The team at Central Automatics were incredibly generous with their time. They inspected my car, and after just a few minutes, made a small adjustment to fix the transmission issue. They advised me to come back only when or if the clutch needed to be replaced, rather than pushing unnecessary repairs.As a young woman who isn't very car-savvy, it's rare to leave a mechanic feeling confident, well-looked after, and without a hefty bill. Central Automatics went above and beyond to make sure everything was checked thoroughly, and I didn’t feel taken advantage of. I’ll definitely be going back to them exclusively for any future transmission and related issues. Highly recommend!

The team at CATS were knowledgeable and diagnosed my DSG transmission problem very quickly. They were friendly and helpful in the process of finding and fitting a replacement gearbox, and were very accommodating when the wrong gearbox was delivered, keeping my car on the hoist overnight until the problem was resolved. Kudos to you guys, great service and great prices too!

I honestly couldn't be happier with the service and expertise from the guys at CATS. I was in a sticky predicament with my car which was an older make and model. I was met only with proffesionalism, honesty and great advice that would help me financially in the future, rather than the shop just taking the money for a quick fix that I would struggle with again in the near future like most shops would. I was dealing with Serge in particular and he went above and beyond to help me through all of this.Cant recommend the boys enough, thankyou!!

If you have a VW DQ200 gearbox then don't hesitate to contact CATS to get it repaired. Being an engineer I researched the hell out of what might be wrong with my sad and shuddering DSG gearbox. What I quickly realised was that this is definitely not a DIY fix and I needed to find a specialist. The moment I made contact with Sergio and his team I realised that I had brought my car to the right place. Sergio is a mix of old school values, genuine courtesy and clinical engineering precision. I dropped my car off and felt totally at ease. It didn't matter how bad the gearbox was that it would be fixed and fixed properly.CATS has parts in stock, excellent communication skills and a passion and commitment to their craft. So hard to find these days. The car was fixed by the next day. The gearbox repair transformed the feel of the car and it now drives as it should. The cost of repair was a pleasant surprise and totally a totally fair price. I had read some real horror stories about the cost of DSG repairs and replacement, and I can honestly say that the experience with CATS was nothing but professional and totally stress free. I can't recommend Sergio and his team highly enough. Thank you Sergio.

Why are there only 5 starts? These guys should get 10!My usual mechanic recommended CATS as my 2011 Suzuki Alto manual transmission was showing signs of serious deterioration. The CATS crew assessed the problem in no time, identified the problem with my transmission, gave a free quote and fixed the car all within 3 days.Gian is an absolute legend, so flexible, personable, reliable and transparent. Do you know when you feel you can trust someone? When you have a great professional in front of you? That you are in good hands? That's him.So happy to have come across the team at CATS. My car has had a noise that I thought was coming from the differential. I have seen 4 different mechanics and all tried to fix the problem and all had no idea but charged for things like new rear tyres.Central Automatics told me it was the front left wheel bearing. Fixed at a great price and now the noise is gone. They even said "no fix no pay after diagnosis " . I highly recommend these guys. I will return.

My normal mechanic recommended CATS as my 2011 Mazda 6 transmission was showing signs of deterioration (260K km apparently is well overdue for overhaul). Nevertheless, Gian and James assessed the problem and provided me with options to consider; these were fully explained in detail.I am very happy with the quality of the service. By far the best transmission specialist in Sydney I have been to multiple places which none of them either could find the issue or just try charge me thousands to fix I took it here and they straight away found the problem which was coming from the ecu recommended me to an auto electrician and sorted my problem straight away honestly couldn’t be happier
